Resolve incomplete ISA history
Fill gaps and identify transferred money without adding the account balance or allowance use twice.
Reconcile the evidence
- Open Complete history or Fill account gap for the existing ISA.
- Add known original allowance years and original amounts.
- If a year is already recorded elsewhere, choose whether this is separate money or Already recorded: match an origin.
- Match the source account and origin, enter the supported original principal and transferred value, and record the evidence.
- Review source balances before and after, plus the receiving account.
- Save only when the figures reconcile; otherwise use Save draft.
Opening dates, renewal dates and maturity dates do not establish original contribution years. Keep unknown facts unknown. Do not reduce a true original figure merely to fit available headroom.
A saved draft posts no financial changes. Resume in Accounts & deals; discarding it does not delete an existing asset.
Understand growth estimates
Growth appears only when original amounts are complete, overlaps and excesses are resolved, and withdrawals or paid-out income do not invalidate the comparison.
Allocations across several years are estimates, not measured annual returns. Completing history changes provenance rather than crediting the account again.
Specialist ISA restrictions and unsupported partial/complex transfer histories need separate reconciliation. For new money actually paid in, use the contribution workflow instead.
