Add an ISA you already hold

Record an existing ISA without treating its current balance as a new contribution.

Add the account

  1. Open Planning → ISA manager → Add ISA.
  2. Choose Cash ISA or Stocks & shares ISA, select the individual holder, and choose An ISA I already hold.
  3. Continue to Details. Enter the account name, provider, current value and the date you observed that value.
  4. Under Original contributions by allowance year, enter the original years and amounts you know. Exclude interest and gains from original contributions.
  5. Leave missing amounts blank or select Some or all original years are unknown. Do not estimate history from the current balance.
  6. Choose Review, check the proposed account and history, then confirm only when they match your evidence.

The account value and history are separate. Growth is not a new contribution. Incomplete history does not prove that allowance remains available.

If the history overlaps

Do not reduce a correct original contribution to fit the displayed headroom. Check whether it is separate money or money already recorded in another account.

Use Save draft while you gather evidence. A draft posts no asset, contribution, gain or transfer. Resume it in Accounts & deals.

For money moving between ISAs, use Record a transfer or maturity. Use Resolve ISA history for gaps and overlaps.
