Record dividends and reconcile payments

Record dividends already paid or issued awaiting payment. Track partial payments, match bank evidence, correct manual receipts and download documents. Shared Income planning shows reviewed individual tax estimates.

Record a dividend

Open Planning → Dividend Manager and choose Record dividend. The default Already paid records both the dividend and its full payment together. Choose the company and its recipient/share class from existing company records, enter the GBP amount and payment date. Select the different-issued-date option only when needed. Issued, awaiting payment instead creates the dividend without a payment. There is no required expected date or overdue label.

Company ownership and share rights are managed in Assets. This release supports GBP companies and GBP dividend-entitled share classes. It records actual distributions, not legal approval or a determination of distributable profits. The ownership snapshot is based on the current register, not a reconstructed historical shareholder register. Verify historic records against original evidence.

Payments and bank evidence

Choose Actions → Record payment for an unpaid or partly paid dividend. Enter the amount and date, review, then confirm. Partial payments reduce the remaining balance. Awaiting payment includes partly paid records; their badge distinguishes them. Amounts cannot exceed the remaining dividend.

Use Find bank transaction to select an unallocated GBP credit to the recipient's personal or company account. The amount and date must match exactly. Joint-account or otherwise unavailable transactions can be recorded manually. The matched source transaction is classified as income; no money is moved and no bank balance is rewritten.

For a dividend already recorded as paid, open View dividend & payments and choose Match bank transaction beside the existing payment. This attaches evidence without adding another receipt. Only one payment can use a transaction.

Correct payment changes a manual receipt's date, amount or reference with a required reason and audit trail. Bank-matched receipts cannot be overwritten manually. Review source discrepancies separately rather than entering a second receipt. Issued facts are immutable in this release; there is no user-facing void/reissue workflow yet, so verify the issued amount and recipient before saving.

Documents and AI

The standard AI panel can suggest details from one dividend document. Uploaded content is sent to Perplexity for extraction and must be reviewed before saving. A voucher alone is not evidence of payment. Unclear or missing values remain for manual review, and existing entered values are preserved. Original uploads are not retained as a dividend attachment.

Download fresh vouchers and draft board-minute worksheets in Documents. Draft minutes do not assert a meeting took place or approval was obtained. Review company details, rights, directors and original records before use. Downloads contain actual names and amounts regardless of privacy masking.

Planning and Income

An optional annual household target and saved proposals stay separate from issued dividends. Recording a proposal opens the same reviewed entry panel; it does not issue or pay automatically.

The page groups records by issued date. “Payments received” means payments against those dividends, including payments received in another year. Each receipt preserves its actual date in Income. It is not automatically a taxable-dividend total. The shared Income view shows per-person headroom and estimated Income Tax when the selected year's profile is complete. Compare proposed allocations in an Income scenario; no company distribution is issued automatically. Unknown evidence remains unavailable rather than zero. Review taxable timing separately from cash dates. See Income Manager for calculation boundaries and source correction safeguards.
