Manage portfolios and investment holdings

Keep portfolios connected to their asset accounts, review holding imports and valuation updates, and distinguish account values from performance comparisons.

Choose the portfolio

Open Wealth → Holdings. Use the consolidated Add menu for the available portfolio and holding actions. A portfolio belongs to an account with a recorded owner, currency and wrapper; review these before adding holdings. Stocks and shares portfolios can also be added through Assets. An ISA wrapper does not itself record a new annual contribution.

Review document updates

Use the portfolio importer for statements containing multiple investments, rather than asking the single-holding reader to choose one. Review instrument matches, quantities, currency and statement totals before applying changes. Only confirm the proposed updates that match your evidence.

The Dashboard can route a statement for an existing investment or pension account to the holdings reviewer. Missing positions are not silently deleted by that Dashboard flow. An account's cash and investments are distinct parts of its value; do not add the full portfolio value again as a separate cash asset.

Prices and comparisons

Use Update linked values to request supported price refreshes. A partial result or a currency mismatch is not a successful update for every holding. Check source dates and currency before relying on a valuation.

Portfolio scorecards and risk/return views depend on the available inputs. A balance change can include contributions, withdrawals or currency movements; it is not necessarily investment performance. Missing or insufficient data should be reviewed rather than entered as zero merely to obtain a comparison. These views are planning information, not investment recommendations.
