Understand your dashboard and net worth

Dashboard combines latest canonical values, immutable daily net-worth history, recorded changes, ownership-aware views and accessibility filters. Document updates require an existing account and explicit review.

Latest values and recorded history

The first tile uses the latest known values, which may have different source dates. The chart and last recorded change use immutable daily snapshots instead. An upload can therefore change today's estimate without rewriting a previous snapshot. The nightly run captures values even if a bank feed is skipped; carried-forward values retain their source date. A balance movement is not necessarily investment growth.

Choose Overview for composition, accessibility and Cashflow, or Net worth for individual assets and the recorded history table. Use time ranges or custom dates. Open a chart point, a history row or “See what changed” for recorded detail. Newly included items are coverage changes rather than automatically labelled gains.

Household, individual and company views

Household totals count each included asset once. For a joint asset, confirm percentage shares under Assets → item details → Accessibility & ownership. Contributions to the account do not determine ownership automatically. Shares must total 100%; individual values use those shares, with deterministic penny rounding so the individual allocations reconcile to the household amount.

An unconfirmed joint allocation makes an individual's total incomplete instead of assuming 50/50. Old snapshots without allocations remain incomplete in that view. Changes to ownership settings apply to current values and future snapshots. Historical records are not rewritten.

Company contributions follow canonical Fieldwell valuation rules. For a company whose assets are tracked separately, only its balancing figure is added alongside those assets. A company view shows the full company valuation once, not that value plus all its underlying accounts. Unresolved nested-company individual ownership is not inferred.

Types and accessibility

View filters combine the selected asset types with Liquid, Semi-liquid and Illiquid groups. Borrowing stays included independently unless explicitly excluded. Excluding debt changes the title to asset value, not debt-free net worth.

  • Liquid: cash available without a sale or material restriction.
  • Semi-liquid: requires sale, settlement or notice.
  • Illiquid: restricted, longer-term, or dependent on sale or repayment.

These are conservative automatic suggestions based on recorded terms, not a promise of access or sale price. Override them per asset under Accessibility & ownership. Historical snapshots lacking classifications cannot be filtered retrospectively using today's settings, so those totals remain unavailable.

Update from a document

Choose Update from document, then upload or drop one account's PDF, image, CSV or XLSX. The upload is sent to Perplexity for interpretation; it is not kept as an asset attachment. Confirm the existing account yourself; a provider name alone does not identify an account.

  • Manual cash: review the closing ledger balance, currency and statement date. Older documents, currency mismatches and concurrent changes are blocked.
  • Investments or pensions: confirm the statement date and continue to the existing holdings review. Missing holdings are retained, not silently removed.
  • Loan repayment history: continue to the repayment reviewer to approve actual principal, interest, withholding and cash rows with duplicate/version checks.
  • Loan agreements: open the existing loan manager to review terms. An agreement is not treated as a current balance or payment history.
  • Feed-managed cash and unsupported or multi-account documents: no direct balance write. Review within the relevant manager or split the document.

No account is created by this flow. No financial update occurs without approval. Read-only members cannot update values or ownership settings.

Cashflow and personalisation

Cashflow at a glance uses confirmed activity from the previous calendar month in the Cashflow account selection. Partial source coverage is labelled, not presented as a complete month. It currently reports GBP and follows Cashflow's account scopes, not net-worth filters or joint ownership percentages. Choose a Wealth, Cashflow or Borrowing focus for the current visit.
