Add assets and manage company ownership

Add accounts and assets with the correct person or company owner, open shared ISA and loan panels, and review value history and associated income and costs.

Start with the owner and asset type

Open Wealth → Assets and use Add asset, or the green floating plus on mobile. Choose the category, then enter its details and select the actual household person or company. Do not assign another person simply to make a record easier to save.

Use the shared ISA panel for ISA accounts and the shared loan panel for loans receivable. These records remain connected to their managers rather than creating independent copies. Stocks and shares portfolios connect to Holdings. Adding a record does not send money or establish ownership legally.

Update and manage

The row's Actions menu depends on the asset type. Edit reopens its side panel; manager actions open the relevant feature. Linked-provider records can have different editable fields from manually maintained assets. Review ownership, currency, valuation date and source before updating values.

AI document upload suggests details for review in supported panels. It does not confirm that a document is complete or that a suggested owner is correct. The Dashboard's document flow updates existing records only; add a missing asset through Assets instead.

Companies

Companies are managed in Assets, not the old Settings → Companies area. Review company details and ownership in the shared company panel. Where a company's value comes from separately tracked assets, Fieldwell adds its balancing figure alongside those assets instead of counting the full company value again. A manually valued company uses its recorded valuation. Check the displayed breakdown rather than adding an extra duplicate asset.

Value history and associated activity

Choose Value, income & costs for the shared activity panel. Value history uses stored daily snapshots. Income & costs shows linked activity for the selected year, not a calculated investment return or taxable property profit. Link an Income stream or Spending item to the asset to include it.

Accessibility & ownership controls recorded joint shares and accessibility grouping for Dashboard views. Joint funding contributions do not automatically establish ownership percentages. See the Dashboard guide for incomplete allocations and historical snapshots.
