Verifying your mobile number
How to verify your mobile number during onboarding or later from your profile, and what a verified mobile unlocks.
Verifying your mobile confirms you own the number on your profile. The source guide describes SMS as a backup sign-in method. SMS two-factor authentication is conditional on that feature being available; this guide does not confirm it is enabled for your account.
Before you start
- Have your mobile phone to hand.
- Make sure the country code is correct — for the UK, that's
+44.
Steps
During onboarding, tap Verify mobile. If you're doing this later, go to Profile → Mobile → Verify.
Confirm your number and tap Send code.
We'll send a six-digit code by SMS. On iPhone the code will appear in the keyboard suggestion bar — tap it to fill the whole code at once. On Android and other devices, type it in.
Tap Verify. If the code is correct, you'll see a green tick next to your mobile number on your profile.
What happens next
Your mobile is now verified. You can:
- Sign in later using Sign in with SMS as an alternative to email.
- Turn on SMS two-factor authentication for stronger security once that feature is available.
Troubleshooting
The code didn't arrive. Wait a full minute, then tap Resend code. If it still doesn't arrive, check the number is correct including the country code, and that you can receive SMS on that handset.
"That code has expired. Request a new one." Codes are valid for ten minutes. Tap Resend code and use the new one.
Only the first digit is entered when I tap the suggestion. This was fixed in the version released on 25 August 2026. If you're still seeing it, refresh the page. If the problem persists on a supported browser, get in touch — this is a bug.
"That number is already in use by another Fieldwell account." A mobile number can only be verified against one Fieldwell account at a time. Remove it from the other account first, or contact support.
